If You Blink, You’ll Miss It: An Intergenerational Dialogue Between August Bernadicou (25) and Rumi Missabu (71)

Rumi Missabu was an original member of the radical theater troupe, the Cockettes. He left the group after a year and a half, moved to New York and then returned to San Francisco. For 35 years, he lived completely off-the-grid.

August Bernadicou is Rumi Missabu’s official biographer. He is the founder of The LGBTQ History Project. Since he was 14 years old, August has been recording and transcribing interviews with gay elders from the 1950s through the AIDS Crisis.
