Jackie Ess is a writer, cultural mischief-maker, and minor internet celebrity. A co-founder of the Bay Area Trans Writers Workshop, her work can be found in Heavy Feather Review, the Zahir, the New Inquiry, Vetch, and the anthology We Want It All: An Anthology of Radical Trans Poetics. Darryl is her first novel. Torrey Peters is an American author. Her debut novel, Detransition, Baby, is one of the first written by a trans woman to be issued by the big-five publishing houses, Penguin Random House, and has received mainstream and critical success. The novel has been nominated for the prestigious 2020 Women’s Prize for Fiction.
