John Whittier Treat is Professor Emeritus at Yale University. He is now based in Seattle where he writes fiction about the Pacific Northwest. THE RISE AND FALL OF THE YELLOW HOUSE is his first novel. He is currently at work on FIRST CONSONANTS, the story of a stutterer who saves the world.
